DUSSELDORF

The city of Düsseldorf, located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the western part of Germany, is famous for its cultural and economic significance. Düsseldorf has been the seat of the Henkel Group, a German multinational corporation, for more than 140 years.

Achieving ambitious targets

As the company continues to navigate the complexities of climate change, Henkel aims to reduce its absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90 percent by 2045. This target was achieved through various sustainability initiatives and strategies implemented across its global operations and supply chain.

Beyond 2030 targets

By 2030, Henkel aims to reduce its absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42 percent and its absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 30 percent compared to 2021 levels. These targets were validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), a leading organization that supports companies in setting climate change reduction targets aligned with the Paris Climate Agreement.
