WCC publishes resource on legal tools for climate justice

This is achieved through a series of workshops, webinars, and online resources.

The Role of International Law

International law plays a crucial role in climate litigation. The Paris Agreement, for example, sets a global framework for addressing climate change, and national laws and policies are often designed to implement its provisions. • The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has also played a significant role in climate litigation, with several cases involving countries and entities responsible for climate change.

The WCC’s New Resource: Empowering Advocacy for Climate Justice

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has launched a new resource to support individuals and communities in their efforts to combat climate change. This initiative is part of the WCC’s broader commitment to promoting justice and sustainability.

  • A comprehensive guide to climate justice, which provides an overview of the issue and its impact on different communities
  • A toolkit for developing effective advocacy campaigns, including strategies for engaging with policymakers and stakeholders
  • A collection of case studies and examples of successful advocacy efforts, which can be used to inspire and inform local initiatives
  • Empowering Communities

The WCC’s new resource is designed to empower individuals and communities to take action on climate change. This involves:

  • Building awareness and understanding of the issue and its impact
  • Developing effective advocacy strategies and campaigns
  • Mobilizing support and resources to drive change
  • A Call to Action

The WCC’s new resource is a valuable tool for anyone committed to promoting climate justice.

An Interfaith Dialogue” (2022) is a publication that aims to raise awareness about the importance of climate justice for children. The publication explores various aspects of climate change, including its effects on children’s health, education, and well-being. The book also delves into the role of faith in addressing climate change and its impact on children. The publication is a collaboration between the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), the Interfaith Youth Core (IYC), and the Global Climate and Health Alliance (GCHA). The publication is available for free download and can be found on the GCHA website. As part of this project, the GCHA, in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), has organized several climate change adaptation and resilience building workshops for vulnerable communities. These workshops focus on providing communities with the knowledge and resources needed to adapt to the impacts of climate change, such as more frequent natural disasters. The workshops cover topics such as climate change adaptation strategies, climate-resilient agriculture, and early warning systems. The GCHA has also partnered with various organizations, including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), to provide technical assistance and support to these communities. The GCHA’s goal is to empower communities to take action and make a positive impact on their environment. The Global Climate and Health Alliance (GCHA) has also developed a climate change adaptation toolkit that provides communities with practical tools and resources to adapt to the impacts of climate change. The toolkit includes guidelines for climate-resilient agriculture, climate-resilient infrastructure, and early warning systems.
